Do you have a set schedule?
No. We let our customers decide! Basically, the first to book the trip get to decide whether we are doing shallow reef or deep wreck dives, and may also choose if they have a specific site they want to do. We do our best to get in the request, but conditions could change that.
Will I see sharks?
It's the ocean! The most common shark around this area is the nurse shark, but we do get the occasional reef shark. Just remember, if you don't harass the marine life, the marine life won't harass you!
Why do I need to be advanced certified to dive the deep wrecks?
Due to the depth, potential currents and the general diving enviroment of the deep wrecks, we do require advanced certification or require that you hire a guide to take you down. The deep wrecks are advanced dives! Keep in mind that a divers open water certification has a max depth of 60 feet / 18 meters!
What do I tip the crew?
Like any other service industry, the crew works for tips. It is hard to say what you should tip, but you can take a look at this site and get a good idea: www.123etiquette.com
Should I take sea sick medicine?
If you are prone to sea sickness or not sure, go ahead and take something. You can get a box for a few dollars at just about any store. Think of it as a $3-$4 insurance policy.
What if the weather is bad the day I have dives booked?
With your safety in mind, if we feel that the sea conditions would not be safe to get you on and off the boat, we will cancel, at no charge to you. If we think it is going to be rough, but still acceptable to dive, we will let you know. If you decide to go, there are no refunds. If you decide to take our advice and not go out, you will not be charged.
Do you dive John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park?
Yes. Nearly all the reefs we dive are considered to be inside Pennekamp.
Is there a minimum age for snorkeling?
For safety reasons, we do not allow children under the age of 5 on board. Also, children under the age of 14 need to have an adult with them at all times.
Should I make reservations or just show up?
Reservations should be made. We limit the number of divers on board to 10, so to make sure you have a spot, make your reservations ahead of time.
