3.Bus To Tanjung Gemok Jetty

Travelling by bus remains a top choice for many travellers as ticket prices are reasonable. The only thing to remember when you’re travelling by bus/coach to Tanjung Gemok is your travel schedule as after you alight the coach, you’ll want to ensure you’ve ample time for the next ferry onto Tioman island, for those making their way directly onto the island.

Once you’ve arrived in Larkin Bus Terminal, you need to purchase bus tickets from JB Larkin Terminal Bus to Mersing.

Step 2: Take Taxi From Mersing Bus Terminal To Tanjung Gemok Jetty

After you reach the Mersing Bus Terminal, you need to take taxi from bus terminal to Tanjung Gemok Jetty. Hop on a taxi to Tanjung Gemok Jetty from Mersing Bus Terminal, with the trip costing you around RM50 per taxi per trip and should take about 30-40 minutes.

6. Bus From Kuala Lumpur To Tanjung Gemok Jetty & Return

If you’re coming from Kuala Lumpur, you need to take the bus from Kuala Lumpur (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, also called TBS) to Mersing Bus Terminal.

Unfortunately, there is no direct bus from Kuala Lumpur to Tanjung Gemok Jetty too but the buses will passby Tg Gemok Jetty. Therefore, remember to inform drivers in advanced for alighting at this jetty.

You have a choice of 3 bus operators that serve the route of Kuala Lumpur to Mersing, namely:

The journey may take you about 6 hours to reach Tg Gemok Jetty. It’s best to take an overnight bus that departs from TBS to reach the jetty before 8:00am. Bus from Kuala Lumpur frequently depart for Mersing and passby Tg. Gemok Jetty with up to 10 trips daily.

You can purchase tickets over the counter at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, TBS or purchase the ticket via online as stated below. Tickets start from RM32 onwards depending on the date you travel and the operator of choice. The bus ticket price for one way is around SGD$12 to SGD$15 (RM32.00 to RM41.50).

7. Bus From Kuantan (Pahang) To Tanjung Gemok Jetty & Return

If you’re coming from Kuantan, Pahang, make you way to Terminal Sentral Kuantan and take the bus to Mersing as all intercity buses depart from here.

Unfortunately, there is no direct bus from Kuantan to Tanjung Gemok Jetty but the buses will passby Tanjung Gemok Jetty before proceed to Mersing in Johor. Don’t forget to request to alight at Tanjung Gemok Jetty.

Check with your coach operator on the exact time of departure for your trip back, and you may want to purchase a return ticket instead of a single journey for ease of transfer later on.
